So I'm a little crazy...what's your point?!

The past months have been a total upheaval of my life.  I know this blog isn't really intended for my insanity rants, but you may just have to tolerate it this time.  I promise I won't go on and on and on too long, but I feel like you, my followers, need to be brought back up to speed.  So, back to the upheaval I mentioned.

Of course if you were following me before my absence then you will know that my family has gotten restationed from Fort Bragg NC to the island of Oahu, Hawaii on Schofield Barracks.  And for almost 4 months I had NO HOME of my own.  Yes, to say, I was homeless.  Family was very kind and offered us a place to kip for the time we would be in WV.  So my itch to cook couldn't really be "scratched".

Fast forward to the end of October and we started our adventure!  Yay! right?  Shew, not so much.  The flight, with two small children (ages 1 1/2 and 3), was.....how should I put this?  Miserable.  The kids weren't bad, really.  It was just long and laborous and I stress a lot over silly things.  I was a mess.  Then when we got here I was tired and cranky and just wanted a soft bed to lay in.  We were escorted to our new post and settled into our hotel.  It wasn't much, but it was a bed.

The next few days was all running around and trying to get things signed and organized and settled so we could find our long term hotel.  Yes, I said LONG TERM.  You see, the housing waiting list is SO long that in general it can take up to 90 days to be placed in a house.  Living off post for us, with dogs and kids, was not an option.  So I spent the whole of November and some of December in a hotel.  A one room hotel with both my kids and a little later a new puppy.  How crazy was I???  Obviously...I was a complete nutter.

So of course after our move in to the home, we had to receive our household goods and unpack and get settled.  I love our home though.  It's so much more than what we could have had off post.  It's beautiful and quiet out here and we often see the resident peacocks wandering the area, and wild pigs too!  It's been a crazy ride, but here I sit with my cup of tea and the sounds of playing children and wrestling dogs in my background.
(So why did the peacock try to cross the road?)

So it's back to work!  I have come across so many delicious recipes and ideas I want to show and share with you all.  I hope you'll stay tuned for more of my craziness!
